MEADOW FARMS
RICHMOND Va.
This was taken May 6,2002 Meadow Farms, Richmond, Virginia. Thats our boys playing dead after being over-run by the confederate forces. We were union this weekend like we are 90% of the time, but like Neil said "I don't care which side I do as long as I do it". I think most of our unit feels the same way, altho we prefer to do confederate. After all Peninsula artillery was a confederate unit.
KILLROY WAS HERE!!! DeLenn was peaking out her very own tent at Meadow Farms. We bought her her own tent so we could save space in our tent. She loves sleeping in it too and what is great about it is,it's easy to put up and take down during the day whe spectators are about. We just put it under a cot and thats all there is to it.
This was taken in 2001 as we were getting ready for a tactical battle. A tactical is just war games where we get to play. Usually spectators are not about and the generals work on there own battle tactics. I have played in a few and they are a lot of fun. Neil looks a little tired there tho.
Here we all are after the battle in 2001. I am in the front row on the left side. We will not be doing this event for the first time this year. Seems that one person complained about the noise last year so artillery pieces can not be used this year. Hopefully next year we can come back because we really like doing this event.
Here is Brenda holding the flag I made for the unit. Gold stars you ask? Well the white thread made during the war would tarnish so the Government used gold so you could see the stars instead of them turning black.
She is 3 here and getting in to trouble. No not really. There are sheep on the other side of the fence and she wanted to get a better look. Kathy took this pic and gave me a copy which I keep on my fridge. Isn't she sweet! 1999

Our camp was set up next to the dance so we let DeLenn go and have fun. She even suckered her father into one, but he looks like he is having fun to me. 1999
