SHAMROCKS PLACE

Hello and welcome to SHAMROCKS PLACE!!! This is a basic "How to" for American Civil War re-enactors. There are a lot of great tips in here and I hope it will be helpfull for folks wanting to start out in the hoby.

First off let me give you a little information about myself. My name is Vicki and I live in Virginia. I am married to a wonderful man and have two great kids. I work for Williamsburg Landing as a nurse. Neil is a landscape forman for a garden center in Williamsburg. Albie, our son is 20 and attends college. In October he is going into the Navy. Besides school he is interested in games (both computer and card) and he plays the piano beautifully. Our daughter DeLenn is 13 and goes to one of the middle schools here in Williamsburg. She is very much in to her animals and wants to be in the Navy, working with the K9's and like her brother does well in school. We have four dog's, named Gunner, Lilly, Abigail and Buck. We also have Zoe the snake, Sammy & Maxie the parrots, Rosie and Daisy the rats, and three fish tanks.

I have been working a lot lately so have not had the time to do much besides that. Also with four dogs going away at all is almost impossible, but I miss it so we are looking into options which will allow us to do this again as a family. Neil still finds time to do a few events with the "79th New York".

We started going to reenactments about 12 years ago and it did not take long to figure out that we wanted to play instead of watch. We actively searched out a unit and joined Peninsula Artillery 12 years ago and stayed with them for 8 years. We joined the 79th New York in Sept. 2002. The 79th is an infantry unit in our area. After Neil got his new Enfield he just could not wait to use it.

Our daughter DeLenn is such a ham. If we charged a dime for every picture someone took of her we would be rich now. Our son is more of an indoor kid and he spends his time on his computer and with Grandmom.

Like I said in the opening sentence, this web site is designed for those folks who would like to get started in the hobby. Even the seasoned reenactor can learn a thing or two here and if you have a great tip you want added to this site just send me an E-mail and I will put it in here some place.

So sit back and enjoy your stay at SHAMROCKS PLACE

Thank you for stopping by my little home on the web. Please feel free to come back again any time. One quick note, I removed my guest book because I got tired of all the spam. I may add it back sometime in the future but for now I am tired of the mess.

Thank You

Vicki
